Mindfulness-Balance in Düsseldorf, Germany is delivering the traditional 8 week Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) course developed by Jon Kabat-Zinn in the U.S. in the 1970’s. We have added the online Mindfulness Hour with a series of topics (stress, thoughts, emotions, compassion and short guided meditations.

Mindfulness is about training yourself to live more in the present moment, rather than constantly thinking about the past or the future. Mindfulness teaches you to be kinder to yourself, and to take good care of yourself, moment by moment. Finding yourself again and peace of mind in a hectic world. 

 

 

Dennis started meditation at the end of Yoga lessons and and enjoyed them so much that he moved on to take an 8 week mindfulness class in Brussels, Belgium.

Together with other friends he continued the daily work and held weekly sessions with them in order to stay on track and learn from the experience of others. A year later he signed up to become a Mindfulness Teacher. He did this at the Mindfulness Academy in Solterreno in Spain.

During the time of the teacher course Dennis and his family moved to England. Here he is now offering the 8 week Mindfulness (MBSR) course in Sandown, Esher, Surrey.

Dennis (born 1967) started his career in the business world. He has a Bachelor’s degree from the Wirtschaftsakademie Hamburg (Germany) and Master’s Degree in Business Administration from the Boston University.

Having worked for a global international company for 15 years up to director level Dennis decided he didn’t need the stressful business life. So when he married and the children came into his life he decided to step back and become the “Stay-At-Home-Dad”. Only to find out that this choice meant the same amount of stress only from a different angle.

Yoga helped very much but it was the Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction that really helped him in coping with the daily life. The ups and downs, the stress, the continuously switched-on mode in this frantic world.

Mindfulness has changed his life to be able to lean back and enjoy, feel calmness from within. There is no change of life as such just a change of the attitude how to deal with stressful and uncomfortable situations. Both the good and bad. This change in focus and calmness from within has given him a positive attitude toward life that is benefiting him in family and business relationships. Because of these benefits Dennis decided to become a Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction teacher himself and pass this gift on to others.

Dennis offers the traditional 8-week MBSR course, one-to-one sessions and is training for Mindfulness in the Workplace.

There is a growing body of evidence that when people intentionally practice being mindful they feel less stressed, anxious and depressed, with the UK Government’s National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) recommending MBCT for the treatment of recurrent depression. Research also shows positive effects on several aspects of whole-person health, including the mind, the brain, the body, and behaviour, as well as a person’s relationships with others.

The workshops include a variety of mindful meditations practices, experiential work and group discussions. After completing this course you will feel well-equipped to integrate mindfulness into your daily life.  We will be looking at thoughts, emotions, feelings, stress, responding versus reacting, and how best to take care of yourself.

Mindfulness Hour

6 sessions

Starting September 17, 2024

6 one hour sessions covering the general idea of mindfulness. The topics are stress, thoughts, emotions, compassion and self-compassion.
